Good no nonsens safety knife

One item you will always see me on the water with is my NRS Pilot Knife. I have used this knife for over a year and have found it to be invaluable while on the water. A quick disclaimer I am not sponsored by NRS and did not receive this knife review by NRS. I purchased this knife through my own accord and have been extremely happy with it ever since.

What initially caught my eye about the NRS Pilot was its blunt tip. The blunt tip has been a life saver! Too many times have I been fumbling around in my kayak only to drop the NRS Pilot into my lap. Picture doing that with a standard knife... The blunt tip also doubles as a flat head screwdriver. The NRS Pilot is made from one solid piece of 420 HC Stainless Steel. The cutting edge has both smooth and serrated sections plus a rope cutting hook that I use constantly while cutting braid. The sheath provided with the knife gives you convenient access and release of the knife when you need it most.

This is one item that I highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality no nonsense paddle sport knife.

One great knife

My prior knife was a standard fold out knife from Winchester. It was very sharp and very nice. The problem with it was, if something happened while on my kayak and I needed that knife fast I would need both hands to utilize it and I may not have 2 hands available at the time it's needed. That's where the Pilot knife comes in handy. I can grab it with one hand and it's ready to go! I like the rope cutting function in the blade, it works flawlessly. The clip that attaches the blade to my PFD is much better than the clip my prior knife had. This holds on much better. This is definitely my favorite knife on the water. Great product!
