The St. Croix Rod Factory in Park Falls, Wisconsin was one of the many businesses in America that experienced a nearly 6-week long shutdown.
It would be safe to say that 2020 will go down in history as one of the worst years in recent memory. It is also a year that has highlighted how important the domestic production of goods is for a country. For many Americans, the “Made in the USA” brand has taken on new levels of meaning and importance, especially in regards to the critical PPE and supplies needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is equally vital for the day to day products that have helped many Americans to get on with their normal lives and livelihoods as best as possible.

The St. Croix Rod Factory in Park Falls, Wisconsin was one of the many businesses in America that experienced a nearly 6-week long shutdown. Thankfully their employees are back at work and St. Croix is celebrating their 72nd year of handcrafting rods that are Made in the USA.

According to Brandi Schmidt, St. Croix Production Supervisor, their Premier Series of rods has been the top-selling American made rods for over a decade running. Brandi also stated that Premier has been in production in Park Falls longer than any other, so they definitely have a special place in the minds of team members. With over 60 years of Premier rods coming through the factory, there is a real sense of pride among the employees to make sure that the rods being produced live up to expectations in both name and legacy. When asked how anglers can celebrate 72 years of domestic fishing rod production along with St. Croix and its employees Schmidt replied that the best way is to take someone new to the sport with on a fishing trip.

Of course, St. Croix would also love anglers to experience how their technologies, materials, and craftsmanship come together to elevate any fishing experience. They have 67 distinct spinning and casting models available, and all their Premier Series rods are proudly handcrafted in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Fans of the brand can also grab some lifestyle apparel from St. Croix, so be sure to check out their website for details.
