Hobie has recently announced that its all-new Hobie Mirage Passport 12 pedal-driven fishing kayak is now available from Hobie dealers worldwide.
This latest addition to their fleet of pedal-driven watercraft has arrived just in time to put a smile on the faces of kayak anglers this Christmas. With the Mirage Passport 12, Hobie has aimed to deliver a kayak that is not only feature rich but also provide anglers with plenty of value for their hard-earned money.
Hobie already impressed kayak enthusiasts with their Hobie Passport 10.5 earlier in this year, but the new Mirage Passport 12 is not just larger, but also more fishing-centric. This kayak is available in either Slate Blue or Seagrass Green and makes use of the original MirageDrive Classic with ST Fins to get you where you need to be. It also ensures that this 12-foot kayak remains highly manageable out on the water.
Along with the tried-and-true MirageDrive pedal performance of the Passport 12, which gives you the luxury of hands-free forward propulsion and smooth, efficient cruising, this kayak also has a couple of other notable features. For one, the extra width provides greater stability, whether you are sitting or standing. It has a lightweight and comfortable Suspended Mesh Aluminum Frame Seat along with an EVA Padded Standing Platform. The latter is ideal for standing in comfort while casting from the redesigned cockpit. Two forward recesses allow for precise placement of an optional H-Bar if you require added comfort and safety while standing.
The Passport 12 also offers ample and secure in-hull storage, which can be accessed from an 8" Twist and Seal Hatch directly in front of the seat. It has more storage space in the bow, which also has an optional Twist and Seal Hatch. For tackle boxes and other smaller items, you can make of the two recesses with Bungee closures that can be found in front of the seat, both right and left. Also, the Passport 12 comes with two built-in rod caddies, so you can easily reach your rods just behind the seat.
Hobie has made it easy to accessorize the Passport 12 as it comes complete with Accessory H-Track Mounts. It also has a Forward Accessory Mount that is compatible with the Hobie Mirage Sail Kit or Bimini Sunshade while the fishfinder transducer cavity and mounting plate makes installing this accessory a breeze. There is ample deck space behind the seat for an H-Crate and a Power-Pole anchor system can also be installed with ease.
For more information about the Hobie Mirage Passport 12 head on over to the official website (https://www.hobie.com/kayaks/mirage-passport-12/). You'll also find this kayak at Hobie authorized dealers for an introductory MSRP of $1,599 (excluding taxes and shipping).
