The wait will soon be over as Old Town has revealed that their brand new Topwater series of kayaks will soon be released and their ICAST debut is just around the corner in July.

There is no denying the pedigree of Old Town when it comes to fishing kayaks as it is the brand that has given the world the Predator series, as well as the Vapor Angler series, Loon Angler series and Twin Heron angler series. These kayaks all have their fans amongst serious and recreational anglers, so it has definitely been exciting to hear about new developments brewing at Old Town.

Old Town has been causing a stir ever since mentioning the new "series," which fueled speculation on just how many kayaks can be expected. They have finally lifted the veil of secrecy and revealed that the Topwater series will consist of three new kayaks. Two of these will be compact and lightweight paddle versions, while the third is actually a pedal-powered version that features the award-winning PDL Drive for hands-free angling.

According to Old Town, all three kayaks have been designed to cater to market demand, which means that anglers can expect not just a great experience fishing on the water, but also comfort and kayaks that are easy to transport as well as store. Of course, the Topwater Series won't disappoint in terms of stability and advanced features either as these are areas where the brand has traditionally excelled. Anglers can expect the same versatile customization options for the Topwater as with all the other Old Town fishing kayak models, so you'll be able to kit it out with your favorite rigging accessories from all the top brands.

Old Town has released the specifications of the Topwater PDL and they are quite impressive, to say the least. Sporting a length of 10'6" and width of 36", this kayak will weigh 76 lbs and be able to handle loads of up to 450 lbs. Even with the PDL Drive the kayak will still weigh in at under 100 lbs. The 46" of leg length will ensure comfort on the water and the kayak comes complete with a 16.5" x 10 bow hatch. The MSRP of the Topwater PDL is $1999.99, so start saving those pennies if you plan on adding this kayak to your collection.

The launch of the Topwater Series will take place on July 10, 2018, at ICAST 2018 On The Water and on July 11 at ICAST booth #622. After this, the Topwater Series will also begin making their way to dealers during the month of July. For more information keep an eye on the official website at www.oldtowncanoe.com and right here at Yakangler of course. Let us know in the comments or on the forum what you think of the new series and if you have any plans to upgrade your current fishing kayak for one of the new models.
