Mike Iaconelli is the only angler to have won the Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Angler of the Year and B.A.S.S. Nation Championship. And now he has teamed up with Hobie, the worldwide leader in kayak fishing, to spread the word that kayak fishing in a Hobie is to be reckoned with.

Bassmaster Elite series anglers such as Ike are hands down the best in the world. Discovering that Ike respects the stealth and flat-out fish-catching utility of a Hobie MirageDrive® kayak is not surprising.

“The MirageDrive technology is a game changer for kayak fishing. Not only is it quiet, it gives an angler ability to use their hands while fishing. Think about trying to fish a boat dock on a windy day. The MirageDrive lets me keep the kayak in any position around the dock while I fish every section of that dock.”

The Hobie Mirage® Pro Angler and its predecessor the Mirage Outback changed the way anglers approach the sport of fishing. So has Ike, through his incendiary mix of finesse and power fishing moves. The two are an ideal match.

“At the end of the day, the more time that I have to put my lures in front of as many fish as I can, the more fish that I will catch! My Hobie gives me the flexibility to hold the kayak in one area if I need to slow down and fish finesse techniques. If I want to pick up the pace, I’m able to use the MirageDrive to get to more fishing spots quickly and I can cover a ton of water with a reaction bait like a topwater, swim jig, or crankbait.”

There is absolutely nothing like fishing from a MirageDrive kayak. Just ask Ike! He joins fellow Bassmaster Elite angler Carl Jocumsen on the Hobie Fishing team.

Hobie is headed to Tulsa for the Bassmaster Classic, March 4-6, to cheer on Ike. Follow along on the Hobie Fishing Facebook page, the Hobie Blog  and Hobie Cat Company Instagram #WeLikeIke

Lets see how the Hobie holds up when he beats his rod on the side of it after losing a fish.
