On Monday October 20, NuCanoe will announce the latest model in their fleet. YakAngler has the early inside scoop, however, and we are excited to introduce you to the “Pursuit”. The Pursuit reflects NuCanoe’s vision of becoming a full-line paddle sports company.

Coming in at 13.5’ long and 35” wide, the Pursuit gives NuCanoe a model for the kayak angler looking to cover longer distances while fishing the flats or larger lakes.

Built on their “platform style” design, the Pursuit features a wide-open deck concept that allows kayak anglers to completely customize their NuCanoe fishing experience.

Blake Young, Owner and Co-Founder of
NuCanoe, emailed Joe Butler and me and wanted to stop by Black Creek Outfitters and let us "test paddle" the prototype of the Pursuit on the lake behind the shop. It was a windy day on the lake and that gave us a good chance to test and evaluate it, and to provide feedback.

It was much quicker than I thought it would be and got up to speed easily. It also tracked fairly straight. Joe stood and paddled it SUP style.

It had a newly designed "Casting Bar" for standing and fishing that that folds down very easily....nice improvement!!

He also told us that the Rigid 360 Base will be available in a lower height...(4-6" lower) which will address issues about windy conditions or stability situations for larger people, and it will also be make with the same "fiber-reinforc ed thermoplastic" that the current one uses for stiffness and lighter weight than the Multi-Seat Base.

I am presently a Happy Frontier owner. I fish coastal tidal waters and have some difficulty when the wind and tide decide to make me work harder. Can't wait to get my 1st Demo in the New Pursuit. I believe it'll be the answer to my wind & tide problem. Thanks to Blake Young and NuCanoe for a Great Co. and Products.
