It is probably safe to say that if kayak anglers that have not embraced the latest offerings from YakAttack, it is because of their commitment to or investment in Scotty rod holders, camera mounts and the like. Prior to the Gear-Head, there wasn’t an easy way to attach Scotty accessories to the YakAttack GearTrac. The Gear-Head Track Adapter attaches to the GearTracs and MightyMounts just as easily as the Screwball counterparts. Scotty’s quick release system makes it easy to remove or change rod holders with just a twist of the Gear-Head Track Adapter. Fortunately that twist is in a clock-wise rotation, so you won’t be loosening the Gear-Head from the rails.
Any Scotty post mount will attach to the Gear-Head Track Adapter: rod holders, camera mounts, extensions, anchor systems, and downriggers too. The Scotty 438 Gear-Head Track Adapter is expected on the market soon.
