Cesar has the kayak fishing bug, real bad - I mean reeeaaaallll bad!!
The new lures? “Sinister Swim Tails” from Slayer, Inc.
Look for a full review of these new lures here on Yakangler.com very soon. Let me tell you, these lures are awesome. Chris Cenci, owner of Slayer, Inc., spent a great deal of time getting these just right. The action is unbelivable. And test show the redfish love ‘em!
Cesar and I took a break from working schools of mullet, and soaked some cut bait. While eating some lunch and talking kayak fishing, his rod doubled over and the drag started screaming.
I was the one that was looking for sharks. I had seen one nice blacktip earlier, but couldn’t get it to eat. Cesar was looking for redfish, and ended up with a nice little bonnethead shark.
My buddy Walt even got in on the redfish action. Working the Slayer, Inc. SST, he picked up a nice bronze-colored redfish.
May is in the books, and now we move into the heart of summer. Beach tarpon, “Big Uglies” (black drum) around the bridges, another Cedar Key trip in the works, Mosquito Lagoon calls, and who knows - I may have a surprise up my sleeve.
Now, where did I put my passport?
