The 2015 Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) is fast approaching. From what I have seen in the trailers, this year’s tour is going to be the best.

The F3T Crew has over 100 tour stops set so far across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to provide two hours of short film entertainment for anglers of all ages. Below are short descriptions of some of the films that will be at a theater near your home.

Conservation Media produced CO2LD WATERS, a film that looks at the single biggest threat to the future of angling - climate change.

Yow: Icelandic for Yes! The teaser from Tributaries Digital Cinema showcases unfished rivers and sitting in lonely line-ups while the snow falls. Iceland’s landscape and culture serve as an incredible background for this short film.

Flats fishing for tarpon, bonefish, and permit is big business in the Florida Keys. These three species generate roughly $475 million in annual revenue in Monroe County, FL. This fact has been noticed by the Cuban government as they consider their own fishery and the nascent eco tourism industry taking shape there. 90 Miles is a story about the natural connections all around us, and possibility of working together to protect and shepherd our fisheries.

The short film Mongolia is a conservation documentary about work being done in Mongolia to protect the largest salmonid species in the world.

Breaking Through: The Story of Larry Fivecoats is about a Vietnam veteran who found he was struggling with the lasting symptoms of PTSD and depression, and began to contemplate suicide. Then Larry was introduced to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. In reality, the film is about the goodness that Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing does for our warriors who return with depression, and teaches them to use fishing as a tool to overcome their challenges.

Out of Touch is about leaving that cell phone behind, and concentrating on fly fishing adventure in search of redfish off the Louisiana coast.

The tour kicks-off in Denver, CO on January 24, and ends in Cartersville, GA on April 23. For a list of shows, check out the F3T web site at http://www.flyfilmtour.com/buy-tickets/. Tickets are normally $15 per show. These shows will sell out, and in some areas there will only be one show that day so contact the host for the F3T showing to purchase your tickets or buy online.

I promise you that if you have never attended a F3T showing, you will be entertained and educated by the various filmmakers on their messages on conservation and fly fishing in general.
