All the entries for the First Annually YakAngler Rigged Kayak Photo contest have been entered.  Adam and I had a hard time just picking just five finalists.  The finalists have been picked and we have opened up the polls for voting in our forum.  Good luck to our top 5!

Modifications:

Added a removable tackle deck and added a rod holder and paddle clips. The straps allow for adding my chest tackle bag plus a hard tackle case on the deck.  Added a light that can attach for night fishing and scrub brush for muddy boots.

Modifications:

Rod holders made from a cutting board and Scotty deck mounts, attached with square nuts and thumb screws allowing easy adjusts to the rod hold placement.  Fish Finder mounted using a Scotty deck mount and Ceacap thru hull wire mount. Transducer mounted with Humminbird mounting kit. Added Native rudder, anchor trolley, and paddle clips. Crate has rod holders and another deck mount for the Scotty night safety light. Made a custom safety flag and cooler bait tank.

Modifications:

Added Scotty Deck Mounts, one for a Scotty Rod Holder and the other to mount the Fish Finder. Mounted the transducer inside the hull using a sponge and Vaseline. Added another Scotty Deck Mount to read to hold the Scotty Night Safety light and installed a Native Anchor Trolley. Built a custom Kayak cart from PVC, a pool noodle, and wheel barrow wheels.

Mounted Humminbird 383c Sonar/GPD Unit. Installed the Scotty Flush Mounts forward of the Sonar, and added the Scotty
extension arms.  This allows easier access to the Rod Holders since they are pretty far forward of the seat.  Mounted my Bait bucket and crate, with my visibility flag.

Modifications:

Wilderness Systems T130 Tandem rigged for Sailing !!!   35 Sq ft. Lanteen sail and mast step from Sailboatstogo.com. The aluminum reinforcement plate for the mast step and the mounts for the paddles used as daggerboards along with the rudder are home-made. Access to re-inforce the bottom of the mast base us through the hatch.   Initially used without out-riggers, but would tend to tip, so I added Canoe Creek hydro-dynamic out-riggers.  On a good day with 7-10 MPH winds it will sustain over 5 mph with 2 people.

Installed Anchor Trolley, Surf to summit GTS Expedition Seat, and Malibu Kayaks X-Wing Sliding Console with internal 12v 10amp battery. Humminbird 343c Sonar and Garmin eTrex  GPS with ram mount. LED lighting, adjustable rod holders, custom transducer mount, and Olympus Stylus Tough-6020 HD Camera with ram mount. Internal pump kit with fresh water intake and reconfigurable 6v / 12v battery system depending on type of live bait used.

Installed Eagle Cuda 350s sonar and GPS combo and soft mounted transom-mount transducer easy to switch between kayaks. Build custom fiberglass Rod Pod lid with room for 3 tackle trays, one of three emergency knives, air horn, and misc other items.RAM AquaBox for iPhone protection and RAM Revolution. YakAttack VisiPole mounted on Plano Box and SOLAS tape details and lettering.  Installed anchor trolleys on both the port and starbord sides.

Modifications:

Replaced all hatch straps with bungee and installed 2 Scotty compact flush mounts between sonar shield and rod pod. Used Scotty base with Scotty 459 extenders with baitcaster rod holders. Replaced round paddle keeper fasteners with hook fasteners. Installed Hummingbird 363 Fish finder and Surf to Summit GTS air wave seat. Added simple anchor trolley with carabiners and rope and rudder.  Put permanent extenders in rear flush mounts.
