Howdy, the wife's side of the family is all from South Carolina and we all get together down there every year for a reunion. This year we're hooking up in Wilmington NC. I don't have any yak anglers on her side, but I'd really like to fish that area while I'm down there and maybe take some of brother's in law, nieces or nephews out fishing. I'm starting my on-line recon to make that happen.

Does anyone have any suggestions on yak angler guides, yak fishing rental agencies, or must fish areas to hit while I'm down there? Any pointers or insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you,
Rob

When I went to Carolina Beach last year I think there was a guide service out of Wilmington called "hook, line, paddle". I'm not sure if that is the name of the kayak shop it may have been the same. I know they offered a river trip in Wilmington and a few other trips in the area lots of kayak fishing opportunity, check out "the basin" at Fort Fisher.

Call Hook, line and paddle and ask from Chris
He should be able to take care of you.
If not pm me and I'll get you in touch with some of my kayak war team members that live in the area.
Or I will come down guided y'all myself

Make sure you punch in with the folks at NCKFA and Hook line, and paddle. I fish the area all the time(as I'm from there) but will not be available when you are visiting. The Fort (all areas, especially the 2nd basin) as well as the 'Trails End' launch area are great places to hit. PM me if you are having any troubles hooking up with yakkers in the area.
Have fun. Darrell

Thanks much, starting to finalize some plans and will call Hook, Line and Paddle this next week. My tentative plan is for three outings, with some others in the family that may go as well. I'll talk to Chris about his guiding options, they are looking good. Thanks again!!

Just got back yesterday. We went out with Chris and Ken on day, and just Ken the other. We had a great time. Thanks for sending us the Hook Line and Paddle, great people there!
