As the title states, does anyone on this board do any freshwater fishing in Delaware?

How have you been making out?

I've had some good trips this year and some bad. Only came up skunked once, caught one of my top 4 bass in size and stumbled on a pond with tons of stunted hungry bass. Seen some neat sights as well. Saw a owl close up, bald eagles, swans in two different locations and my first mink.

Any one want to get together for a fishing trip?

I've never visited Delaware but it looks beautiful from your photos. I will be in Washington D.C. Next month for work which is about the closest I have ever been to Delaware.
Save the earth. It's the only planet with kayaks, fish & chocolate!!!

I wouldn't call Delaware beautiful but you make out the best with the opportunities and areas you have. I've been filling my kayak with trash on every trip but it wears on you after a while. I was on foot a couple weeks ago in Maryland and didn't have enough room in my back pack to get all the trash in the first spot I stopped. Did what I could but didn't make a dent.

The swamped canoe is actually in a drainage ditch that a beaver stopped up the culvert. It was the first time I used my canoe in like 10 years. I took it because I had to carry my gear across a rock pile across a different ditch. The canoe weighs 43# and my kayak is 60#. Unfortunately I weigh a lot more since the last time I used it. Fat dude in a skinny canoe is not good.

I have had some of my best trips this year fishing in retention ponds.

Like I said make the best of the spots you have.

I'm in southern Delaware. I fish most of the ponds etc... in my Jackson Cuda 12. There are quit a few of us who get together and fish. Delaware Paddlesports also puts on a kayak fishing tournament series that a bunch of us do every month.

I fish Trussum Pond about 2-3 times a year, mostly during the summer when we go down to Fenwick. I've fished Trap Pond too but prefer Trussum since there are more cypress trees and the area is better protected from the wind.

I fished the DPS event at Records Pond in November and that was my first time. Managed two bass and two yellow perch. DPS put on a great event.
