I'm looking for a fish finder gps combo and wondering if you all have any suggestions or experience with them? My girlfriend is hopefully getting me one for valentine's day and i want to lead her in the right direction and not get a piece of junk. I'm hoping to find one under $400 if it's possible.

Might just get a handheld gps and a seperate fish finder, so really any suggestions about either would be great.

Thanks

I have no experience with a combo unit, but I know Basspro has an Eagle combo on sale for around $300.

By the way, nice job on convincing your girlfriend to spend $400 on you for Valentines Day. I've been doing it wrong this whole time!!

Take a look on the Hummingbird 325CI...great unit as others that have it, just rave about it!!
Its a combo unit GPS/fishfinder PLUS you can load Navionics maps for all lakes and coastal areas in the US.

Take a look at the Humminbird 385ci Kayak Combo, it has everything you need to put it on your yak including dry bag and battery. It's about $500, find it on sale or use a coupon for a deal. I know you wanted to spend less but when you think about a dry cell battery, charger for same and the stuff to mount your transducer to the hull you'll add that much or more.... hmmm wasn't there something about a deal on a trailer or something? Oh and it's a COLOR machine!and if you have a Ocean Kayak you might have the transducer scupper hole mount available!

I love my 385 unit. And I get to try my new chip in 1 week! :cheer:

I used to use separate units but It was worth it to go to a combo unit. I have more then enough stuff on my deck all ready

Here is a picture of my re-installation of it last weekend. I really like the Ram mounts for them. I think it will be great being able to move it some to reduce glare.

Eagle Cuda 350

You can often find it for under 200. It's B&W screen, the GPS is decent (no depth scale, but everything else is there), the housing is sealed (rare in sonar), and you can't beat it for the price, hands down.
