I am partial to Hobie's. For big water and all around use I would go with the revolution. Tracks well and can handle smaller waters and rivers too. I take mine everywhere. I would demo them first.

Demo... that's the key word. Get on the water and find out what you want for a kayak. The Hobie Revo is probably my dream boat, but quite a ways out of my pocket book. The WS Tarpon you mentioned is an AWESOME boat, imho, the Tarpon 140 would suit you pretty well in Lake Ontario, and still be small enough for smaller lakes too.

Yeah demo is the key. And I'm not talking about a 20 minute demo...if it is possible, take it out for the day or even weekend. Rent it if you have to. I was 100% sold on the Hobie Outback after I demoed it for a few hours BUT after I demoed it for the weekend it just didn't seem to be a good fit for me. I took it back for the Revo. Sometimes it takes a while to either get used to a yak and/or notice it's pros and cons. What works for me may not work for you.

your revo should be fine, but if your looking to paddle you would want to try the wildy ride 135 im kinda partial but for stabilities sake and all around awesomeness  i wouldnt paddle any thing else except for maybe a commander 140 <!-- s:thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_thumbup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbup" /><!-- s:thumbup: --> check both of them out and see what you think.
