I'm looking for ideas on ceiling storage of my ten-foot sit inside. This kayak only weighs 35 pounds, so I can lift it up (probably don't need pullies).

One idea is similar to the way I store my surfboard:

That is, I put the end on the shelf, then slip to rope loop over the tip. I would use softer supports (straps).

Another idea is to put it on a shelf, as I've done with my inflatable:

I realize neither of those is ideal. Hoping for some tips/ideas.

Thanks,

Al

You may not need the pulley system because of weight, however it is really simple and easy to use. I picked one at Dicks for about $35 and use on my Jackson Cuda that weighs around 75-80# with all the stuff I keep on it and in it. It is a one man operation. Stop trying to re-engineer the whole thing spend 35 bucks and move on.

That system looks good for lighter kayaks but for a heavier kayak it would be better to have longer straps with cam locks on them. Here's a diy article on one of the best and easiest that I've seen and the way I'm hanging mine.
