I had invested enough time, labor and money into my new toy and still cannot stop. After all the modification, check older posting how I started and turned it into a missile fishing kayak, and to spend more time on the water I decided to add a trolling motor because of all the weight and to get help in a lazy day!!
I shopped for 2 month for a decent trolling motor and I was not looking for quality or strength but concentrating on the weight of the trolling motor itself as starter to complete my project.

I decided to create my own motor mount to fit my needs and cut the cost.

And Some Wheels.

Nice job on the motor mount. I'm also considering a trolling motor, but I'm looking at mounting it at the rudder mount on my OK Prowler. More work that way because I'd have to install cables for steering.

Did you look at the cheapO 30 lb thrust motor from Bass Pro Shop? Is the WaterSnake around $100?

Hi, this is a great setup! I'm looking to do something very similar. One question: how did you attach the straps that hold the milk crate to the side of the kayak? are those screws? Rivets? what size did you use? Did you use sealant afterwards?
thanks!

Be sure to do a review after you use this. I have thought about it. I have wondered how it would track with the motor on the side.

Very cool sir. I already have a sail, a paddle, a peddle. I don't think I would benefit, but maybe. What kind of time do you get out of it with a 12 volt battery?
