The past couple weeks have brought 10-15 feet of snow to much of the Sierra Mountain range. The snowpack this year will produce plenty of water to the state and should keep all our waterways plentiful for fishing season throughout the year. Fishing season opens April 27th and it looks like I may have to keep my yak at home as we may ice fishing the first few weeks. The scenery in our local mountains is absolutely beautiful right now and the snow isn't expected to go anywhere for several months.

Crowley Lake is out there under all that white stuff, and there are plenty of big fish also.

The snow is just a little deep at the moment.

A couple hours south of us has been hit really hard with some bad flood damage, mudslides and sinkholes the past couple days due to the heavy rains. We have had plenty of rain where I live but nothing damaging other than the high winds. The mountains all around us are covered in snow making for some great views right now. Fishing season opens April 27th in the mountains and it appears they will be doing more ice fishing the first month. I'll be fishing more in our desert lakes for crappie and bass in April & May, I usually start my fishing in the mountains in June when we start hitting the 100+ degree days here.
