My sister-in-laws boyfriend finally got his first yak on the water this past weekend. The fishing was slow but the weather was perfect and Mt. Whitney in the background is always nice to see. He managed to catch one rainbow trout and I caught two so at least we didn't get skunked.

Nice! Your scenery is awesome, but you can keep those 100+ temps!

This is the best time to be fishing in the desert lakes. We finally broke out of the 100's about 3 weeks ago so we are nice cool temps now with highs in the low-mid 90's the past few days. When we went to this lake last weekend the highs were in the low 80's. Our 100+ temps are between June and early October and this year it seemed a little more intense with a few days of 120 in July and August. I try to stay in the mountains fishing as much as I can during the summer months.
