I just found this new rod holder from RAM anyone use the RAM-ROD Light-Speed rod holder yet?

I haven't, but have used a fairly similar rod holder from Folbe. It's a pretty cool design, that most users admit to needing a bit of time to get used to using.

I like it though (loved the Folbe) and will probably pick one up to see what I think

Yeah I thought it looked cool, liked the way it has a quick / type rod release! Wish there were others who have tried them or even seen them in the store.

I know with the Folbe and Scotty similar designs, you do have to be fairly exact with how you remove the rod from the holder. Say, standing in a power boat and grabbing a rod from the rail. That angle is easy and perfect. How well it's going to work in a kayak remains to be seen. I'd also not judge any first reports. This style tends to require some breaking in to loosen up the retrieve.
