My local Hobie pro does love his, but he can make use of it up in Washington. No live bait allowed in Oregon, so I can't tell ya much.

I do think you could build your own, though, and save a good chunk of cash. If I can get into a couple of the bass tourneys here, then I'll need to make a livewell...

Yeah I've been doing some searching and found this DIY Bait Tank it dosent' look as pretty as the official Hobie model but it's a hell of alot cheaper!

yeah, I know that 5g bucket doesn't look good, but you could also use a rubbermaid tub, plastic oil container, or a bulk food bin (what I'd use, and it looks like the hobie job). I'd also likely run the hoses in/out of my scuppers too. I'd prefer something just a lil bit lower profile to keep from weather cocking and keep that center of gravity low. IIRC, Malibu Kayaks used to have a center hatch live well...

Here is another one I found on kayakfishinggear.com, little more high profile than the Hobie but it looks better than just a 10 gal bucket.
