Wow the Santa cruz kayak WAS one of my have to try yaks this year, but after seeing how poorly that rep handled things I thinking a Cooda or a Ride would be a better chioce. Oh and just so you know I am a person fighting cancer and your remark about how ironic it would be if she got it was not only wrong in so many ways you have made your company and any product you may ever make a non issue for me and anyone that even hints at being interested in them.

Just to clarify, SCK is the owner of the company..... Also it's unfortunate that your fighting cancer our thoughts are with you!

WOW!! I have never seen such a display. Well I have knocked my list of yaks to try down by one. Thank you Santa Cruz Kayaks. You have just made my search a bit easier.....

Wow, take a little time off of the site and this topic starts smokin' again. I thought I actually saw one of these on the back of a truck/trailer at the Cumberland tournament, but by the time I did a double take it was around the corner so I didn't get a second look.

I missed my opportunity at OR to give one a paddle, but I know someone up here is picking one up soon, so I'm hoping to get my chance then.

Funny how this thread keeps coming up... It's like a celebrity having nude photos leaked, they never go away! Yay for the internet!

I know I am newer on this forum, and this is a very interesting topic! I have had the pleasure to talk to Jim Martin, the guy who owns Santa Cruz Kayaks and he really seems like a very nice guy. I don't know him personally but he seems very passionate about his Raptor. He sent one to me to demo for the swfkaa and I admit I had my doubts. Last Saturday we put it in the water and I had a co-worker who has never been in a kayak get in first. He paddled out, stood straight up, and stepped into the back like the thing was a jonboat! I was really shocked! It's not a perfect kayak and there are things I would change (seating for one) but it is the most stable kayak I have ever seen. I thought my Commander 140 was easy for a big guy like me to stand up in, this is way more stable. It's not the fastest kayak out there, but it's pretty cool. Anyway, just my 2 cents. I can't speak for the posts that are on this thread, but he sure seemed like a nice guy to me.

I'm glad you had a positive experience with Jim. Side note I changed the vid to just a link because the forum currently doesn't support embedding Facebook videos.
