Standing Bear offers a wide variety of fish species. It's stocked each Fall with Rainbow trout, which is a nice perk for a lake in Eastern Nebraska. Access is extremely easy with the boat ramp on the south side of the lake. Best fishing in later fall (right after trout are stocked) through early spring. This lake is a popular one in the Omaha-metro area, so it's best to fish when it is cooler & fewer anglers are out. The lake has a lot of structure along its shores. Obviously, this can create issues for the kayak angler to be aware of, but also provides prime habitat for fish..
