Walnut Creek has a nice boat ramp for easy put-in/take-out. With two islands, a "bay" on the southwest corner, and a cove in the northeast corner, it's a great place to fish on windy days. You can always find a place with fish & no wind. Walnut Creek is a great bluegill & crappie lake, but also has nice bass and catfish as well. There is a lot of flooded timber here, so no water-skiers, and good structure for fish. The park does close at night (I think the open hours are 6am to 10pm) and they host a variety of events, so sometimes it is not open to the public on certain parts of the weekend. They post this a few weeks in advance, but it's not the place to visit from out of town unless you have a backup plan..
