The drop in is located below the Pecos River highbridge about 45 miles west of Del Rio, Texas. It's a normal boat ramp where you can pull up, unload, load, and get on the water, but the parking is a long ways from the water. You have to drive up and walk back down, quarter mile or so. Water level will determine how far you can go in this scenic high cliff area. In good water it's an easy 15 mile upriver trip to the weir. Most of that is big water, no rapids. Then pull around the weir and keep on going. At that point it becomes a regular river with rapids and a lot of pulling and pushing. Or head south to the confluence with the Rio Grande. Although as of this date, there is a sandbar preventing any travel to the Rio from this boat ramp..
