Horseshoe Bend launch on the James River in VA just north of the town of Buchanan. This launch has a concrete ramp and ample parking. This strech of the river is great for Smallmouth and there is even a chance at catching a Musky. There are multiple take outs down river starting with Springwood which is 2.5 miles down river on the right under the bridge for Springwood rd. from there its 5 miles to the take out in Buchanan and another 5 from there to Arcadia, all takeouts on the right. The float is pretty easy with a few up to class 2 riffles and 1 ledge between Buchanan and Arcadia..
