This is a paved launch for the New River just outside of Radford VA. This run is from Claytor Lake dam to Peppers Ferry Rd but the float can be made to Mccoy Falls for a much longer and more difficult trip. This stretch is one of the premiere Smallmouth and Musky fishing spots in Virginia. There is also the opportunity to fish for Walleye especially in the early part of the year up to April. The Peppers Ferry Rd take out has no ramp and is on river left. Caution to those wanting to extend the trip to Mccoy Falls, there are some more serious drops and ledges on this stretch but adventurous folks will be rewarded with excellent Smallie fishing and a great chance to tangle with a the "fish of 10,000 casts"..
