Lake Moomaw is a mountain impoundment north of Covington VA. This is one of Virginias premiere trout and yellow perch lakes. The deep cold lake sustains a fair walleye population as well. Water levels fluctuate seasonally and bass as well as panfishing can be good in coves with underwater trees. Access is easy at a well established public ramp free of charge. Chances are high to boat a brown or rainbow trout of a lifetime..
