This is an old seldom used boat ramp on U.S Hwy 98. The state put in a bigger ramp up the road so that makes this one perfect for yakers. It give you access to the lower part of Chacaloochee Bay pronounced Chocalota by locals. Its got good bass and bream in the grass as well as reds and specs. Spring time is one of the best times to fish the shallow bay with bass bedding around the duck blinds. As an added bonus there are three restaurants within a short paddle of here. Also one of the best things about this location is you can start fishing as soon as your kayak starts to float. Its on the main road so it has always felt safe to me and I have taken my family here many times just to paddle and look at alligators.
