Daniel Island Pier offers fishing and incredile views free of charge. From the pier you can see the Wando terminal port (locally known as "Terminal Flats"), to the north you can see the James B. Edwards bridge, and to the south the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge.

There is gravel parking within walking distance of the pier and a sandy launch for kayaks and canoes. A childrens play area, pincic tables, and bicycle trails are also close by.

During summer months there are boat shows and concerts. This is great location with access to open water and many tributary creeks/flats in the lower Wando River.

Daniel Island Pier

I fish here often and enjoy myself everytime. For anyone who has never been to Daniel Island, I'd say go. It is a nice community with a small town feel. Ther are many parks and picnic areas close by to the pier and the locals are extermely friendly. There are Sheepshead near the pier and flats scattered along both shores nearby that hold schools of Speckled Trout and Redfish. There is also a community of Oyster Toad fish that hang out along the main supports of the J.B. Edwards bridge. Next time you are in Charleston give the DI Pier a look.
