Emiquon wildlife nature preserve

As this is a reclaimed Illinois river bottomland lake it is for most part shallow, BE AWARE OF WIND CONDITIONS
This place is so cool, words are hard to find. I felt like I was fishing in another part of the country, which is very good if you're from Illinois, and have fished there all your life. And the fishing is/can be incredible. One must first obtain free fishing permit from Dickson mound museum just across the road, no live bait (except worms), google Emiquon to see all the regs. www.larrysfishinghole.com doesn't seem to get many updates for Emiquon so I usually stop by American sport at corner of rt.136&97 (309)543-3968. Very knowledgable info.

American sport bait shop in Havana has closed, I picked up Wax Worms and Night crawlers at Casey's in Havana. I tent camped at Webb's Valley View Campground 2 miles east of Lewistown on US HWY 24. No campfire rings that I saw but the place was immaculate, restroom w/shower, electrical boxes in tent area, WIFI, all for $5.00.
The campground is 1 mile from Lewistown, I visited Dinks Beer, Booze n Bobbers in Lewistown next to Casey's on US 24/Main st., he has bait and small selection of tackle.
