Upper Devils River at Bakers Crossing

Just above the Bakers Crossing on HWY 163 is a pond like section of the Devils River which has excellent largemouth and smallmouth fishing. You can paddle upstream more than three miles but be advised that portaging is required. Smaller pools of water below rapids in the uppers Devil have good populations of Small and Largemouth bass.

If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience then contact a local guide service to transport you to bakers crossing and paddle downstream to Lake Amistad. If you are limited on time you can paddle upstream and fish the wider marsh like section of the Devils river.
