Panther Creek is a very small creek (or branch, as we say in the south) so don't plan to kayak Panther Creek. This is a great place to fish Pickwick from a kayak, it has 2 large coves with lots of cover and is somewhat protected from wind by the large hills. This is a relatively remote place and has not facilities. The 3 or so miles leading to the launch is somewhat well maintained gravel road. Lots of wildlife in this very beautiful area. Can see Mississippi due west. Plentiful places to pitch a tent but no graded or maintained tent sites. It's a bit over 7 miles back to Waterloo, Ala.
