Barton Cove is located in the Connecticut just prior to a hydro-electric dam. Most of the year the currents are light and you can launch and paddle up river easily. They also have a shuttle service and kayaks to rent. There are tables for a picnic tables at the launch and Bald Eagles nest on the islands a short paddle out. There is also a state boat launch just to the west and a camp ground just to the east.

    • Water in kayaks ?
    • I have a sit-in. I keep a bail bucket (a square-lipped quart-sized dinghy bailer) and a sponge. I like to keep dry once inside.
