From this parking lot on Deer Island you can carry your yak over a small see wall and launch on the inside of Winthrop Harbor. Or head to the outside and launch off the beach. A note of caution: there are strong currents, rips, and shallow rocks around Deer Island. This is a spot for experienced kayakers.
