Cane Bayou launch is right on Hwy 190 (near the fire dept). Camping available just down the road at Fontainebleau State Park: http://www.crt.state.la.us/parks/ifontaine.aspx Target freshwater species such as large mouth bass in the fresh/brackish water of the bayou or paddle 1.5 miles out to Lake Pontchartrain to fish for saltwater species such as redfish & spotted sea trout. It's an easy paddle to the lake from the launch point. The area surrounding the bayou is a wildlife sanctuary, so there are many opportunities to see all sots of wildlife including alligators, wading birds, predatory birds, otters, etc.
