No cart needed but you will have to lift kayak over a ledge onto launch. It is protected from current to make it easy to get out to river. Cross over to island at the log that is used to lift kayak over onto land, and portage across about 50 yards to small canal. You will need your cart here if alone otherwise 2 people can carry kayaks across. You can peddle down current and come around into Crystal Bay but getting back will be difficult against strong current here. Good SM Bass, LM Bass, and Pike fishing here in fall..
