Located along the south shore of Tampa Bay, in Manatee county this area recently had a multi-million dollar restoration project to restore it to its orginal condition. Sited for development in the early 60's (Bert Reynolds was one of the backers) it had several canals built for homes. It has numerous back country mangrove areas, deep holes and some of the best grass flats in the bay. A naturally protected harbor, its the birth place for many of inshore game fish. After about a 3 mile paddle you will find yourself out on the flats of Tampa Bay..
