2015 review

It's extremely stable, paddles ok and is almost a hands free boat. You still have to control the rudder but being able to pedal against the tide instead of going with it is great. It allows you to present the bait in a more natural fashion. The newest model comes with the turbo fins and added bearings for a smoother pedaling action. The new for 2015 H-rail makes adding accessories a snap. The only thing I don't like about it is the weight. At 140 pounds rigged its a handful if ya do a lot of out of the way places like I do but once it's in the water it's a real Cadillac of a yak.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
extremely stable and almost hands free
Cons:
weight and price

2015 Hobie PA14

My review will be mostly comments comparing to the 2014 PA14.

Speed - I noticed a very distinct difference in the ease of the new Mirage Drive with Glide Technology, resulting in a faster average speed over a long outing. Owning both the 2015 PA14 and Outback with several outings in each of them on the strong current of the Detroit River, I have to say, though the Outback seems faster compared to pedaling the PA14, the GPS output says otherwise. At best I might say that there is less than 1/2 mph difference, if any at all.

Stability - still the same great stability as previous, other than when in rougher conditions I can see that the new skeg introduced in the 2015 will aid in stability in the harsher conditions.

Durability - I have owned several PAs now and haven't broken anything yet. My only gripe is inherent of any kayak made of the same material, with regular wear on the bottom depending how much you take care running over rocks, or dragging over hard surfaces.

Features - the skeg is a great addition to the PA, not something you will have down very often unless you are in conditions that warrant it. No more getting blown 90 degrees with a strong tailing wind.
The new rubber mesh pockets are a great modification, only wish they were used on the Outback mesh pockets also.
The new H-Rail and available accessories that Hobie has introduced for the H-Rail make rigging that much easier. The crate, basket, ram balls, rod rack, and mounting plates will keep you from having to drill into the black side plates. The H-Rail was extended considerably from the previous round rail, which will give you more room for adding fishfinders, rod holders, or any other accessory you want to add to your kayak.

Value - Personally I feel you are getting good value for your dollar. There is not another kayak or watercraft on the market that can be compared to the Pro Angler series specifically the PA14.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
H-Rail

PA-14 is simply the best on the market!

Best man powered fishing platform on the market. Super fast at up to 6MPH, very stable as I can walk around the boat and stand sideways or backwards with ease. hands free fishing of course is a no brainer! Fishing Machine!

Hobie Proangler 14 2015

ITS A FISHING MACHINE! There are no cons because nothing is in the same class that doesn't need a paddle. It's the best fishing kayak out there right now hands down that has a propulsion system other than your arms. Until someone figures out to fish better with your feet I'm going this route. Don't hesitate a minute to buy one need if your into fishing.

Fish Slaying Machine. From Blue Fin to Bass and Back again with no limits.
