Kayak Make & Model

Viking Kayaks
Profish 35
MSRP ($):
Length (ft):

The Profish 35 is one of the most compact fishing kayaks in the Viking Kayaks lineup and is available in Daybreak (blue, white, yellow), Kiwi (black, green), Lava (black, red), and Storm (black, white) colors. According to Viking Kayaks, this 11'5" kayak is designed specifically with lure fishing in mind.

The shorter length of the Profish 35 offers anglers much better maneuverability compared to larger kayaks while the shape of the hull also guarantees greater stability. Despite the compact size of the Profish 35, it still manages to offer more than enough space for one angler and their gear. This makes it a good choice for adults as well as younger kayak anglers.

The Profish 35 is able to offer great stability, even when the kayak is fully loaded and weighs 52 lbs while offering a maximum capacity of about 350 lbs. It has a large central storage well that can be used for stowing all your tackle as well as other essential gear. For security and easy access, this storage area has a removable lid, which also makes for an excellent mounting surface for electronics. The Profish 35 also has rear storage well for easy access along with a 6" storage hatch, complete with removable bucket. This kayak features four flush mount rod holders, all of which are within comfortable reach for larger as well as smaller paddlers. In addition, this kayak has two StarPort HD mounts that can be used for adding adjustable rod holders or other RAILBLAZA accessories.

Anglers will appreciate the Propelz Deluxe Fisherman seat that is included with the Profish 35 and it also comes complete with a Propelz fiberglass Speed paddle. If you are looking for an affordable and compact fishing kayak that comes with rock-solid stability then you can't go wrong with the Profish 35. Viking Kayaks is a New Zealand brand, so it might be hard to track down this specific model in the United States, but the slightly larger Profish 400 is more common. It's 13'6" long and a bit heavier, but offers more carrying capacity and is also very stable. Viking stands by the quality and craftsmanship of their kayaks, so they are one of the few brands that offer a 30-year warranty.
