Kayak Make & Model

Emotion Kayaks
Spitfire 8

Sometimes all you need is something cheap, lightweight, compact and easy to paddle and that perfectly describes the Spitfire 8 by Emotion Kayaks. It's definitely not something that you would want to use as your primary fishing kayak if you are serious about the hobby, but works great if you want to take along a beginner or children.

The Emotion Spitfire 8 is a single person sit-on-top kayak that was specifically designed for calm or slow-moving waters. It is 8' long and has a carry weight of 39 lbs, but can offer a maximum capacity of up to 240 lbs. The hull is constructed from high density polyethylene that has also been UV-protected to make sure it's not damaged from too much time in the sun. These kayaks come in three very visible colors, namely Red, Pink, and Lime.

Although this is a very cheap and rather bare bones kayak, it does have a couple of features that are normally only seen on much more expensive models. These include the tankwell with its cargo net lacing system as well as the comfort rest seat, complete with padded backrest. The Emotion Spitfire 8 also comes with molded-in freedom foot-wells along with self-bailing scupper holes. In addition, front as well as rear handles make it easy to transport the kayak to where you need it. This kayak offers great stability as well as decent tracking, but the larger models are obviously able to offer even better tracking. Along with the rear tankwell, this kayak also has a solace storage hatch for extra storage beneath the deck.

Overall, the Emotion Spitfire 8 is a decent entry level kayak for beginners or younger kids to join you on fishing trips. It's very affordable, but don't expect all of the extras that you need for a proper fishing kayak.
