Liquidlogic Deuce Coupe

Deuce Coupe

Despite being aimed at somewhat of a niche market, there isn't a lack of two person sit on top kayaks available on the market currently. Liquidlogic has tried to differentiate their Deuce Coupe from the crowd by focusing on quality, comfort, as well as versatility. This means that while it is not the best angler specific kayak on the market, it is versatile enough for recreational use as well and perfect as a family kayak. It features three seats and still has space left over for plenty of other gear.

The Deuce Coupe has a length of 13' and a width of 33" while its weight has been kept to a manageable 78 lbs. This is not the type of kayak that you are going to be hauling around on your own, but to be fair, very few tandem kayaks are. It does have a tag along wheel, so you can drag it to where you need it after you manage to take it off your vehicle. In addition the kayak offers a maximum carrying capacity of 500 lbs, which is reasonable for its size. The Deuce Coupe can be steered either from the stern or solo position and offers plenty of stability, which is a must for a multi person kayak. Tracking is also great as the kayak includes a deployable skeg, which is a feature that is not often seen on tandems. The skeg controls can easily be reached from the stern as well as solo seating positions. The low profile of the sidewalls on this kayak also makes it easier to paddle as you don't have to reach up and over to do so.

In terms of comfort, the Deuce Coupe fares well and comes standard with a Deluxe Wedge stern seat, Wedge bow seat as well as Tag Along Wheel. Speaking of the seats, they are made from a quick-drying mesh fabric that have been designed to withstand direct sunlight. To remove the seats you need to make use of a screwdriver, so they are pretty solid, while still easy to move around if needed. For storage, you get three sturdy rubber hatches and all of them are easy to access. It also comes with a sizable storage well where you can keep your larger fishing gear.

Overall, the Deuce Coupe is a tandem kayak that can easily handle a lot of different types of water without compromising on stability. As usual with these types of kayaks you are going to find better options if you are a solo angler, but for those with families who would also like a stable kayak for recreational use, it's not a bad option.
