There is a reason why kayaks are typically designed to be suitable for one type of activity because if you try to cram in too much, you tend to end up with something that can do a lot, but not excel in any of them. However, someone must have forgotten to tell this to Viking Kayaks as they went out and designed a kayak that isn't just great for fishing, but can also hold its own as an expedition kayak. If this wasn't enough already, they have also given it plenty of room and made it a tandem kayak for good measure.

The Tempo 2 is 15'5" in length and boasts a width of 35". Although it weighs a whopping 77 lbs, it does allow you to carry up to 575 lb, which is more than enough for two anglers along with all of their fishing gear. This kayak would probably have been a lot heavier if it wasn't for the linear medium-density polyethylene that Viking Kayaks use in their manufacturing process. This ensures that the kayak has maximum UV inhibitors and is colorfast while remaining stiffer and stronger than some of the cheaper plastic used by other kayak brands. In fact, Viking Kayaks are so confident in the durability of the Tempo 2 that they offer a 30 year warranty on the hull of the kayak, which is quite impressive.

In terms of comfort, the Tempo 2 features two deluxe fisherman seats and a large, self draining cockpit as well as adjustable foot pegs. Since it is quite a sizable kayak, it's no surprise that it has plenty of storage space to offer. Along with large front and rear fish/gear wells, it has four 6" waterproof hatches and two tackle pods. Six flush-mount rod holders provide plenty of options for trolling and two Railblaza StarPorts gives you plenty of options to mount accessories as well. The best thing about the Tempo 2 is its stability as well as the amount of space that it has to offer. Because of the size of the kayak, it can be powered by an optional electric motor, but it is also easy enough to paddle, especially when used by two people.

Overall, if you want a durable and spacious kayak that works great for fishing as well as expeditions, then the Viking Tempo 2 should not be overlooked.
