Driftsun Teton Tandem

Kayak Make & Model

Brand:
Driftsun
Model:
Teton Tandem
MSRP ($):
999.99
Length (ft):
12

The Driftsun Teton Tandem is primarily a recreational kayak, but it can also be used for fishing if you need the extra space and have family members who want to tag along. This 12' kayak can comfortably accommodate two paddlers and even has a center seat that can be used for a child. Of course, by making use of the center seat you can also take the kayak out for solo fishing adventures.

The hull of the Driftsun Teton Tandem is constructed from a single piece of rotomolded UV resistant high density polyethylene, which provides it with plenty of strength and durability. Thanks to the wide balance hull, this is a kayak where stability is not a concern and it even tracks pretty smoothly for its size.

The great thing about the Driftsun Teton Tandem is that it comes fully loaded, so there is no need for any major modifications if you want to use it as a fishing kayak. It features four flush mount capped rod holders and has two mounting points for Scotty accessories. In addition, you get dual watertight storage hatches, along with a sizable rear tank-well storage, complete with bungee. Driftsun has even thrown in some built-in cup holders for your convenience. The Driftsun Teton Tandem has four fixed carry handles, which makes it easy to transport despite the fact that it weighs 72 lbs. While this is slightly on the heavy side, it does mean that the kayak has a maximum capacity of 500 lbs, which is more than adequate for most fishing needs. To help secure your paddles while you are fishing, this kayak also has two paddle park holders and the removable EVA padded seats with high back support also makes things slightly more comfortable.

If you are looking for a decent tandem kayak that can handle more than just fishing, then the Driftsun Teton is definitely worth your while. It is just as handy for cruising or touring as it is for fishing, which makes it pretty versatile.
