Love them or hate them, but as long as people keep buying "divorce kayaks" then kayak manufacturers will keep making them. Brooklyn Kayak Company is one such manufacturer and the UH-TK122US is their 12.9-foot long version. Apparently, this kayak was designed to be useful for serious fishermen, while still being appealing to anyone who simply want some vacation recreation. The result is a sit on top kayak that is 2.85-feet wide and a flat bottomed hull design. This design works quite well to keep the kayak very steady, even in water conditions that can cause problems for smaller kayaks.

If you want space you'll get plenty with this kayak as it has been designed to accommodate two adults and one child. In fact, with the ability to hold up to 770 lbs of combined gear and paddler weight, you'll be able to take along some extra gear as well. The hull material for the TK122US is high-density polyethylene, which is sturdy and offers UV protection. However, it does have a weight of 77 lbs when empty, so you may need some help to transport the kayak overland. It does have a built-in rotomolded handle at the bow and attached flexible grip at the rear for two paddlers to carry the kayak, but if you are on your own, then you'll need to either tow it with a cart or take the risk of dragging it if the ground surface allows it.

When it comes to angling features, the TK122US delivers with no less than four flush mount rod holders and two articulating rod holders. It also features a big rear storage area with bungee system for your gear and two watertight hatches with dry bag inserts. In addition, this kayak has two paddle keepers for securing your paddles and the adjustable upright aluminum frame seats are more comfortable than some of the seats you get in cheaper kayaks.

If you want a big tandem fishing kayak, that has plenty of space and features, then the TK122US is not a bad choice. It is available in blue camo, green camo, grey camo as well as blue and red/yellow.
