The Vanhunks Whale Runner is advertised as a fishing kayak, but it can just as easily be used for touring. It is a 9ft sit on top kayak that is 32 inches wide and weighs 51 lbs. It offers 330lbs of weight capacity and can comfortably accommodate a single person.

Like the other kayaks in the Vanhunks range, the Whale Runner features a roto-molded, 5mm polyethylene design, while marine grade stainless steel bolts and captive brass inserts were used to secure the fixtures and inserts. The result is a sturdy kayak that is not just very durable, but also UV resistant and impact resistant. Vanhunks has so much confidence in the durability of the hull that they offer a lifetime warranty on it. Out on the water the Whale Runner doesn't excel in any particular department, but the handling, speed as well as tracking are all acceptable for a kayak in its price range.

Vanhunks has included a deluxe foam padded seat with the Whale Runner to make the time you spend fishing a little more comfortable and the kayak has one swivel rod holder along with four flush mount rod holders. It's unusual to see that many rod holders for a kayak of this size, but avid anglers will appreciate this feature. The back area of the kayak can be used for storage and it is also covered with a bungee with six d-rings. It also has two side handles with bungees that are rather handy and the two rubber carry handles to help you transport the kayak. If you are new to the hobby, you'll also appreciate the two piece paddle that Vanhunks includes with ever Whale Runner Fishing Kayak.

Overall, the Vanhunks Whale Runner Fishing kayak is an affordable and worthwhile option, but there are cheaper brands available that are more well known, which may cause it to become overlooked.
