Bonafide SS107

Kayak Make & Model

Brand:
Bonafide
Model:
SS127
MSRP ($):
1,299.00
Length (ft):
11

The SS107 is the smaller, cheaper companion to the new SS127 from the company, but it is definitely not inferior in any way. Bonafide has lavished just as much care and attention on this kayak in order to make it an appealing choice for all kayak anglers.

At only 10'7" in length, the 107 is a lot more compact than the SS127, but Bonafide has tried to ensure that it has just as much "Fishability" as its larger stablemate. This meant providing the 107 with enough stability to give anglers the confidence to move around their kayak or even stand up and fish. The 107 is 34" wide, but offers some of the best stability that we have seen on a kayak as compact as it is. This doesn’t appear to have influenced the tracking and glide much either as the 107 fares well in both of these categories. This is probably due to the hybrid cat hull design that Bonafide used for the 107. This kayak has a total weight of 84 lbs, including the seat, and has a capacity of 425 lbs.

The 107 is being marketed as an angling kayak, so it obviously sports a couple of neat fishing specific features. These include a DryPod with transducer through-hull scupper, PerchPads, so you have additional standing positions on top of the kayak gunwales, a Boss Strap rod management system, YakAttack Aluminum GearTrac, and HiRise seating, with ultra-high bass boat like position. In addition, the 107 has low profile deck fittings, deck traction pads in the forward cockpit and dual action foot braces. The foot brace track is also strong and ultra ridged, thanks to its anodized aluminum design.

Despite being compact, the 107 doesn't skimp on storage space either as you have the Omni Hook stern tankwell tie-down system along with the bow hatch that has Doubleheader hinges. It is even compatible with the Junk Drawer accessory package if you need to stow away even more items. Transporting the kayak is easy thanks to the Fat Grip handles found on the bow and stern as well as the side carry handle that also handles paddle storage.

Overall, this is a really solid fishing kayak from Bonafide and definitely worth looking into if you are looking for something a little cheaper or more compact than the SS127.
