Riot Kayaks

Intrigue Angler
MSRP ($):
1,249.00
Length (ft):
10

The Intrigue Angler is another compact kayak from Riot Kayaks that doesn't skimp on angling specific features. At 10'0" it is far from the biggest kayak on the block, but thanks to a roomy cockpit, it doesn't feel as claustrophobic as other smaller kayaks. The Intrigue Angler weighs only 40.3 lbs and is able to haul around an impressive 276 lbs of weight with ease.

The Intrigue Angler is a Hard Shell Plastic sit-inside kayak that features a huge sea-view window in the floor, right in front of the seat. According to Riot Kayaks, this is designed specifically for anglers who stalk crystal-clear lakes for fish as it provides you with a great view of what is going on beneath your kayak. For some anglers this will be nothing more than a gimmick, but depending on where you like to angle, it is an interesting touch. To make this kayak more kayak more appealing to angling enthusiasts, Riot Kayaks have also thrown in three fishing rod holders. You'll find the two flus mount ones just behind the cockpit, while there is an adjustable rod holder up in the front.

When it comes to storage, the Intrigue Angler has a sealed rear bulkhead and a thermolite hatch cover, so you are able to stow away some valuables. Thanks to the large cockpit you can also pack a few essential items in there, but this will obviously obstruct your view through the sea-view window.

All in all, the Intrigue Angler is yet another solid angling kayak from Riot Kayaks. Due to its size, it is not going to appeal to everyone and the sea-view window is interesting, but hardly essential. It does make for a very stable fishing platform and the compact size makes it easy to manage on and off the water. While the Intrigue Angler is priced a little higher than similar sized kayaks, it does feel like a quality product, so there is definitely value for money here.
