Kayak Make & Model

Brand:
Riot Kayaks
Model:
Edge II Angler
MSRP ($):
779.99
Length (ft):
10

With their Edge II Angler, Riot Kayaks promises a "fully outfitted" kayak that is ready to go fishing on day one. It is quite a compact kayak at 10'12" and has a width of only 28" while weighing in at 52.7 lbs. Riot Kayaks aren't kidding with their promise either as the Edge II Angler comes with a whole host of useful extras, which means you get great value for money.

Despite its size, the Edge II Angler is quite stable and feels very low on the water. This also means that it is surprisingly nimble and you can really get to spots that might be inaccessible to other kayaks or boats. It is also very easy to handle, so beginners should have no trouble getting around with this kayak. Another benefit of the Edge II Angler is its maximum capacity of 276 lbs, which means you have ample space at your disposal.

The Edge II Angler comes with all the expected features on a fishing kayak, so you have two flush mount rod holders in the back to carry your rods, along with an adjustable rod stand in the front, so you can get down to fishing. It has a stern sealed bulkhead with a 15" rubber hatch for keeping your valuables safe and it even has a track-rite skeg system. Shock-cord n the fore deck offers additional storage options and also features a paddle hook. The custom fit seating system will keep you comfortable out on the water and it has integrated thigh braces along with quick-lock adjustable foot braces. Another nice extra on the Edge II Angler is the anchor trolley system, which is something that is not normally included on a kayak in this price range.

Overall, the Edge II Angler is a very decent option for this price class, especially if you are looking for a compact kayak, but don't want to compromise on storage space and stability. There are newer and better options available on the market, but that certainly doesn't mean that the Edge II Angler is obsolete by any means.
