The Profish GT is an all-water kayak from Viking Kayaks that is designed for paddlers of all capabilities. It is at home in fast moving currents, flat waters and even breaking waves doesn’t pose any problems for it. In terms of dimensions, the Profish GT is a respectable 11'10” long and 32” wide with a weight of 57 lbs. It is also capable of handling loads of up to 385 lbs with ease.

The reason why the Profish GT is so light in comparison with other similar sized kayaks is because Viking Kayaks makes use of virgin linear medium-density polyethylene. In addition to being lighter, this plastic is also stiffer and stronger while also offering Colorfast capabilities and maximum UV inhibitors. To ensure that the Profish GT can handle salt water conditions, its accessories are also nylon installed and has stainless steel hardware.

What makes the Profish GT great for angling is the reversed chines and flattened foot well area design of its hull. This makes the kayak a stable and comfortable platform for stand up surface casting. Owners of the Viking Profish Reload kayak will notice a lot of similarities in terms of the cockpit design of the Profish GT. It features comfortable seating and what Viking Kayaks calls the ability to “Load and Go.” This just means that you have options for a Chill Pod, Flat Deck Tackle Pod, Kid Pod or Tackle Pod depending on what you need. The Tackle Pod is fitted as standard with this kayak while the rest are available as optional extras. The ability to remove these pods also streamlines the process of transferring your gear between kayaks if you own more than one.

The Profish GT doesn’t skimp on storage option as it has a large rear well as well as a front mounted oval hatch and 6” storage hatch with removable bucket. It also has a paddle holder, which is always useful, along with four flush mount rod holders. Those who want to customize their kayak further will find that the Profish GT is compatible with a rudder kit, anchor running rig, fishfinder attachment kit and much more. Lastly, the Profish GT is available in a couple of stylish color options.

If you are looking for a good looking and comfortable kayak then the Profish GT won’t disappoint.
