Kayak Make & Model

Vibe Kayaks
Model:
Skipjack 90
MSRP ($):
499.00
Length (ft):
9

Anglers looking for something that is compact, light and has excellent maneuverability while still being suitable for fishing will definitely appreciate what the Vibe Skipjack 90 brings to the table. This fishing kayak might not be big, but it certainly doesn’t skimp on features. It is available in three colors; blue camo, sea breeze and hunter camo, with a retail price of less than $500. It is a 46 pound kayak, which makes it easy to handle when you are alone. At 9’ in length and 32” wide, it is also compact enough to be transported with ease. It does offer a capacity of 300 pounds, which should be more than enough for a single angler along with plenty of gear.

In addition to being very compact, the Vibe Skipjack 90 also has superb stability. In fact, it is possible to stand and fly fish using this kayak as a platform and it performs admirably in windy conditions as well. The width of this kayak is put to good use for storage as it has two sealed hatches, complete with bag inserts, along with a large bungeed rear tank well. The addition of two paddle parks in order to secure paddles when you are busy fishing is also great, while the four capped flush mount rod holders are perfect for anglers. For those looking for even more options, the Vibe Skipjack has a mounting point for Scotty, RAM or Vibe mount accessories.

While the Vibe Skipjack 90 certainly isn’t the best fishing kayak on the market, it is really hard to argue with what it has to offer in terms of value for money. It basically has everything you need to start fishing and offers great performance in a variety of water conditions to boot. It’s not particularly fast and the shorter length does count against it when it comes to tracking, but overall this is a good kayak that won’t leave you with buyer’s remorse.
